Warmer temperatures have arrived in most of the country, and the new 2017 landscaping season is under way. At Best Mexican Beach Pebbles, we have been busy building up our inventory, packaging beach pebbles, and getting ready for the busiest time of the landscaping/construction year. Our rock yard in San Diego is stocked with all colors of Mexican beach pebbles: black, grey, green, red, buff, and mixed. All regular sizes are in plentiful supply (starting with ½-1” size for single color pebbles, and smaller sizes for mixed stone).
Over the winter period, we have also performed various quality control enhancements at our pebble beaches in Mexico. As our customers know, river rock that comes from Mexico’s Pacific beaches is a completely natural product. In addition, there is no heavy equipment allowed on the beaches to protect the natural habitat of various species. This means that all production is performed manually – i.e., each pebble is picked up by hand and manually inspected for size and color. This helps explain the natural variation in color shades and sizing among Mexican landscape pebbles . The only exception is the mm pebble sizes, which are sifted to achieve uniform size.
This season Mexican river rock is expected to grow in popularity, as it has been for the last several years. Highly popular applications continue to be ground covering, walkways, dry rivers, and indoor and rooftop spaces for large commercial projects. Many rock yards and landscape material suppliers are stocking up not only black landscape pebbles, but also buff beach pebbles and other colors that are used to create contrast with black. The demand for mosaic floor coverings for higher-end landscape projects continues to grow. At Best Mexican Beach Pebbles, we have the ability to provide landscape rock that matches the shades required for a wide variety of mosaic designs.
